Elysium Secrets.. Elysium Secrets you say… Well, what kind of secrets are you hiding, ELYSIUM SECRETS?!!!
Heya, and welcome to Foks Studio´s very first LORE THEORY, that one, special article everyone goes to for all of that juicy, MUST-KNOW gossip! Our very first topic for this series will be an SMP called Elysium Secrets, a lore based Minecraft server where the modpack, characters and rules change every month! That's right, every single month!
Let me tell you, this SMP has DEFINITELY caught my eye not ONLY because of their mysterious title but ALSO because of their sneak peeks and info thread on their Twitter page! Something that sparked my attention was how they introduced their info thread on Twitter:
“Come all, gather around, and I'll tell you the cautionary tale of puppets on a string, caught in the crossfire of a never-ending quarrel between twins, the puppeteers of the show."
This snippet of info is especially intriguing because I suspect that this hints at the server lore (like, obviously!) What do they mean by “puppets on a string”? What do they mean by “a never-ending quarrel between twins, the puppeteers of the show”? I have so, SO many questions, but here is what I have gathered so far!
The word “Elysium” means to be in a state or place of great happiness (according to the Cambridge dictionary). So the server's name translates to secrets to ideal happiness. This makes the lore a tad bit confusing considering this is a “cautionary tale of puppets on a string, caught in the crossfire of a never-ending quarrel between twins”. This brings me to wonder what happened to the twins? They clearly aren't happy now, but were they before?
The twins are referred to as “the puppeteers of the show” which implies that these twins will be the main antagonists of the SMP. However, who ARE these twins?
The info thread is advertised as if the server were a show or even a play. This is especially interesting considering they also use the terms “puppets on a string” and “puppeteers of the show”. The question is, what could this mean? Could this imply that the server is a show or play of its own? Who would be hosting this show? Who is the ringmaster behind this “game”?
All in all, Elysium Secrets definitely has some interesting lore that I hope all of us are looking forward to decoding! But in the end, its all just a theory… A LO- no, no, NO I am not! I WILL NOT! Well, maybe one da- NO >:(
